For more than fifteen years the visitBerlin Berlin Convention Office (BCO) of Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH has offered competent support at the organisation of conventions, meetings and incentives. Customers benefit from the experienced team, a broad network of contacts and the free-of-charge agency and reservation services for hotel allotments.

Since May 2012 BCO has been a full member of the “BestCities Global Alliance”. This service network of international meeting and convention metropolises includes Dubai, Singapore, Melbourne, Houston, Copenhagen, Cape Town, Edinburgh, Bogota, Tokyo, Madrid and Vancouver. The membership of the German capital paves the way for joint marketing campaigns.

On Germany's leading congress destination is presented in a comprehensive, structured and interactive manner. Event planners are provided, for instance, with ideas for framework programmes, participants get information on the tourism offering of Germany's capital.

Effective immediately: The visitBerlin Convention Partner e.V. offers associations and companies planning a MICE event in Berlin a strong network of local service providers. It brings together locations, technology and equipment providers, logistics companies, caterers, convention organisers, and event agencies all under one roof.

In cooperation with the Berlin Convention Office, the common goal of the agencies is to present and market the city as a modern and attractive destination for congresses and events. All member agencies of the association offer a full service which not only involves the right hotel and the smooth running of the congress. They will also draw up an accompanying culinary and cultural programme for your event in an imaginative and original way.

Berlin has an outstanding range of accommodation with more than 784 hotels – affording guests the largest choice of modern hotels in Europe. Nearly all international hotel groups have already opened hotels here or plan to do so in the near future. At present, Berlin has more than 137,000 hotel beds.

The German capital continues to gain in attractiveness as a location for large-scale events. At present in the CityCube Berlin, more than 511 events with around 167,280 participants per year take place in the congress area of Messe Berlin.

Host venue to upwards of 1,800 events a year, the Estrel Congress & Messe Center is Berlin’s premiere event location. Whether a conference, gala, trade fair or media event, the congress center’s 269,000 sq ft of multifunctional event space offers the flexibility to host the broadest spectrum of events. The Convention Hall I has capacity for up to 6,000 persons, the Convention Hall II features two venues to accommodate up to 5,200 people while 75 additional conference rooms are available in a variety of sizes, all outfitted with the very latest in technical equipment.

Cultural events
Berlin’s theatre and music scene is of the highest calibre. The city has a long tradition as a theatre metropolis and is justly proud that it can present such a diverse range of productions today. More than 150 theatres, 3 first-class opera houses, 8 major symphony orchestras, 2 major musical theatres, variety theatres as well as countless cabarets provide entertainment to suit every possible taste.

Museums and exhibitions
Berlin is a city of museums. With about 180 museums and more than 400 galleries the capital boasts a highly impressive range of unique, internationally renowned collections. Exhibits from all over the world, old and young masterpieces, items dating back to prehistoric times – every imaginable style and period in history can be found in Berlin’s unique and constantly developing museum landscape. Germany’s largest cultural investment project, the Berlin Museum Island, has been completed. The Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection, the Museum of Prehistory and Early History and various artefacts from the Collection of Classical Antiquities have been given a new home in the Neues Museum. Renowned archaeological treasures, such as the bust of Nefertiti and the Egyptian Museum’s entire collection of Armana Art, combine with world-famous exhibits from the Museum of Prehistory and Early History, such as the skull of the Neanderthal from Le Moustier or Heinrich Schliemann’s collection of Trojan Antiquities, to form a unique panorama of the early history of humankind. The five museums on Museum Island belong to the World Cultural Heritage List.
